Introducing Digital Classics

Broadly speaking, Classics can be defined as the study of ancient Greece and Rome in all its aspects, particularly language and literature. Despite the focus on antiquity, contemporary research and scholarship has given rise to a digital age in Classics. By building on a connection between Classics and the digital age, project CITADEL builds on this new direction of research!

Classics and New Media

Typically, the term 'new media' refers to communication that occurs digitally. This includes digital art, apps, television productions, podcasts, and even video games. Therefore, by developing a video game, project CITADEL also shows how Classics, in this case the Homeric epics, can be received in new media.
