Introducing Digital Classics

Exploring Digital Classics

Classics, the study of ancient Greece and Rome, traditionally focuses on language, literature, and history. However, modern research has embraced the digital age, opening new ways to engage with the ancient world. Project CITADEL builds on this evolution, blending Classical studies with digital innovation.

Classics in the Digital Age

‘New media’ refers to digital forms of communication, including apps, digital art, podcasts, television, and video games. By developing an interactive game based on the Homeric epics, Project CITADEL demonstrates how ancient literature can be reimagined through digital storytelling, making Classics more accessible and engaging for today’s audiences.
